Mr. Melik
Father of 8 year old
"Love the program. Curriculum is challenging but conceptual. My son enjoys it."
Mr. Staevski
Mother of 7 year old
The amount of homework is serious and requires commitment from the students, but results follow the effort. I could see my child implementing the learned strategies in his elementary school classes. My child loved the SAM curriculum and learned a lot of different approaches to various problems.
Ms. Patel
Mother of 8 and 11 year olds
Both my girls have gain so much from SAM. They have been going for 4 years.

A message from our director

– Mohan Subramanian · Center Director

Welcome to S.A.M Lincoln Park — a place where every child is seen, heard, and challenged at exactly the right level.

“My goal is simple: help every child fall in love with learning — and build the skills to prove it.”
When I opened this center, I wanted to create something the Lincoln Park community genuinely deserved — a rigorous, research-backed curriculum delivered with warmth and patience. Singapore Math isn’t just a method; it’s a mindset. We teach children to think flexibly, reason deeply, and approach every problem with confidence rather than fear.

Our English program follows that same philosophy — structured, scaffolded, and individualized. Whether your child is just beginning to read or preparing for competitive entrance exams, our certified trainers meet them where they are.

I invite you to come visit, ask hard questions, and see the difference for yourself. We’d love to be part of your child’s journey.

Math & English both under one roof

Our two flagship programs follow the globally top-ranked Singapore curriculum, adapted for Chicagoland students.

By car

We are located directly across from Woodman’s, right at the intersection of Deerfield Road and Milwaukee Avenue. Our center offers a spacious, dedicated parking lot with plenty of free parking available, ensuring a completely stress-free drop-off and pick-up routine for your family.

Common questions about the Riverwoods center

Find quick answers to common questions about our franchise model, support system, and investment details. We’re here to help you make informed decisions with complete clarity and confidence.

The beauty of our personalized model is that your child never actually “misses a lesson” (like a traditional lecture)—their custom curriculum simply pauses until they return.

As long as you cancel a session in advance through our parent portal, you will automatically receive a makeup credit to use on any day where we have mutual open availability. Advance notice is required so we can open up that spot for another family looking to use a credit, just as you will rely on someone else doing when your child needs a makeup.

Yes, absolutely. We know family schedules are busy, so we do our best to coordinate simultaneous timeslots for siblings.

Because our model is strictly personalized rather than lecture-based, each child will work on their own independent curriculum track. Simultaneous spots fill up quickly due to our low student to teacher ratio, so please enroll early to get these spots.

We do not offer tiered sibling discounts, as our investment goes entirely into maintaining a low student to teacher ratio and a fully customized academic track for every individual child. Our cost of delivering this premium, personalized instruction remains identical for each student.

Instead, we focus on maximizing value for multi-child households by offering coordinated, simultaneous scheduling, allowing you to manage your family’s busy calendar by having multiple siblings taught on their own custom paths at the exact same time.

While we officially welcome students beginning at age 4, we do on occasion accept students who are slightly younger, provided they demonstrate the focus and behavioral readiness suited to a structured learning environment.

Because we maintain a strict student-to-teacher ratio of 5:1 or better, each younger applicant is thoughtfully evaluated on an individual basis. This careful approach ensures that every child — including your own — enjoys a joyful, productive experience, while preserving the attentive, focused atmosphere families expect from a premier math school Riverwoods parents trust.

Having launched our Singapore Math Riverwoods operations this past September, we currently operate an exclusive weekend schedule:

  • Saturdays & Sundays: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM

We expect to expand into weekday afternoon hours as more North Shore families discover the top-quality programs offered at our math school Riverwoods families trust.

Our calendar year is structured into four quarterly terms: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer.

Each individual quarter provides 12 scheduled classes. While our terms are roughly aligned with local public school calendars for seasonal convenience, our exact start and end dates may vary slightly to ensure every student consistently receives their full, uninterrupted 12-session curriculum block each season.

Our educational models are completely different. Traditional programs rely on passive, classroom-style lectures with student-to-teacher ratios as high as 20:1.

SAM delivers a highly personalized learning experience in a strict 5:1 or better setting. Instead of paying for unguided “seat time” or repetitive drills, your investment goes directly toward active, Socratic coaching tailored to your child’s unique conceptual roadmap. True cognitive progress is measured by the quality of engagement, not the quantity of hours.

That individualized approach is one reason families searching for Singapore Math near Riverwoods choose SAM over traditional tutoring centers.

Absolutely. Local districts like KCSD 96 and Hawthorn D73 qualify students through NWEA MAP score thresholds and a follow-up performance task — where students must show their reasoning, not just pick an answer. SAM’s Singapore Math method is built exactly for this: deep conceptual understanding over memorized procedures. Our students don’t just score well — they can explain why.
